Based on a crazy idea thought up in the IBC thread, we will aim to read some of the 3 currently available free to read volumes before the time limit is over on October 13, 2025.
From unwanted advances from her boss to work dumped onto her by coworkers, thirty-year-old Tomoko Hanno, or Panko for short, struggles to stand up for herself. But when her rusty bike breaks down, she meets Ryouhei Takahashi from the neighborhood bike repair shop. Although he can be a bit overbearing, Panko finds herself relying on his considerate nature and her world begins to shift…

Oh! Nice! I’ll def be aiming to as close to 40/day that makes sense without dividing up chapters too crudely.
I considered @ ing you, but I thought that if you had decided to keep with the series you’d already have finished it (or at least the 3 volumes that are free rn). Happy to have you reading along though

ふつうなら、そうだけど… Though I never pay attention to “free until” volumes, as I: 1. Default to Amazon (Bookwalker app is too annoying, plus occasionally I’ll read manga on Kindle), and 2. Don’t really like having to read on someone else’s schedule.
I’m any case, I’m always happy to join the discussion for things I’ve read

大丈夫？ The MC speaks standard fwiw, and otherwise it’s not that different than Kansai-ben, if you’re already familiar. I actually didn’t realize until my teacher pointed out. Tho 1.5 weeks later, I’m hoping I’ll be able to spot the differences more
I would be joining in, but I can’t seem to find the free to read versions? Is it bookwalker? Maybe natively links to a different version? I just have a cheaper price
I just read the first two chapters, it’s not that bad indeed!
Not very text heavy, and the story has a nice pace. Took me around 10 min per chapter.

Yes I think the link from Natively points directly to volume 1, which sometimes goes on sale, that is gets a lower price. However when they have the “temporarily free to read” sales, they create a “new” volume 1 with a different price, that’s not referenced by Natively. Maybe @shitsurei you can add the bookwalker link to the first post
Then I’ll be joining and giving my best! My first furigana free read will probably a devastating catastrophe, though. But there’s no way I’m not gonna at least try the speed run club
Read the first 4 chapters and I’m completely sold it’s sooo cute

Even without furigana, it wasn’t too hard on me. Though I have to admit I skipped some panels, cause I was too lazy for all those kanji look-ups. But on average it’s not more than 3 kanji per page. For a quick read where I’m just in it for the story, that’s very doable
Nice! I use Mokuro but doesn’t help too much with the slang x) But I feel the same way, it’s easy to get the gist of it anyway.
I have just finished the first volume myself. I liked it, cute, funny and light, nice pace. I definitely will continue with volume 2 to see where it is going, not impossible that I will have to continue to volume 9 (those “free to read” sales are a trap xD )
I had a peek today, just a quick 2 chapters during commute. Love her nickname パン子. Otherwise, nothing much happens so far. I feel it would be quite good for me to get some more office talk exposure, judging by the first 2 chapters.
