I’m eager to read this one because while I haven’t seen the anime versions of S and SuperS (yet!), I have seen the anime version of Stars.

I finally finished volume 7 that I started back then.

That brings you so close! Are you reading the short stories at the end of some volumes as well, or saving those for later? I’ve been reading them a little here and there if I finish up a week’s reading early, though I still have the short stories for Makoto, Ami, and Rei pending, as well as the longer Luna one.

I forgot that this is the manga if many editions - I’m reading the shinsouban one, so I think the short stories are collected separately? If they were included I’d read them as they appeared, I think.

I had kanzenban in mind, so volume 7 shinsouban isn’t quite as close as I was thinking, but that’s still within the second half of the series =D The short stories are indeed in separate volumes at the end for that release.

Clearly I have trouble reading along.

I’m not sure what I think of this arc to be quite honest. Especially considering that the series is almost over.

I did put the mini story volumes into my Amazon shopping cart the other day, to be bought when I have too much money.

You give me hope for my own future reading ability =D Right now I’m working on increasing my reading stamina, wherein I’ll read each chapter in a single day, rather than splitting it across two or three days. And there are still plenty of words I skip over, without looking up, if I feel I have the gist of it. I’ll definitely be re-reading the series in the future (when I also have too much money, and buy the colorized digital release).

I’m not sure what I think of this arc to be quite honest. Especially considering that the series is almost over.

I felt like the fast pace of the first couple of story arcs slowed down a bit in the following two story arcs (to the point where sometimes it felt like it was dragging just a wee bit). This arc feels like things have sped back up again. And I feel kind of like maybe Naoko Takeuchi wanted to fill in those last little details (such as the prior chapter telling about the home planet for Phobos and Deimos, and this week’s chapter mentioning Luna and Artemis’s home planet). I don’t mean this as a criticism, but it feels to me like there’s a lot of details being included for the sake of completion.

I do find it interesting to consider that Luna and Artemis were not originally from Earth’s moon, but rather at some point in their former lives chose to travel across the galaxy into the Milky Way, to Silver Millennium. Like, what if they were actually just on vacation, fully intending to go back home soon, but then they got caught up in Metalia’s attack? That’s a vacation destination that’ll be getting a bad review.

I don’t mean this as a criticism, but it feels to me like there’s a lot of details being included for the sake of completion.

I think that’s what’s been bothering me about it. There’s so much information and happening packed into this last arc. There’s always been a lot going on, but the pacing might have improved with an additional volume or two.

Finding out that basically everyone had their own planet (or that’s what it felt like) and their own senshi was really a big surprising for me. I had thought that was what made the silver Millenium and their senshi so special, that it wasn’t a common thing.
