I’m still having trouble figuring out when to read 方 as ほう or かた. I think in both these sentences it should be read as かた??
SNSで悪口を言ってる人は全員、自分が人殺しをしているかもしれないってことを考えた方がいいよ。

The first one feels like a ほう to me, but I am basing that entirely on ほうがいい is a grammar that sounds right. The second, 受け取りかた and ほうができる both have good sounding vibes so no clue which is the right one.

As part of a compound word, it’s normally かた , while as a standalone word, it’s usually ほう.
Pretty sure the first is 方 (as part of the ほうがいい grammar point, modified by the previous statement to indicate what would be better), while the latter is making a compound word of 受けとり方, as in “way of being recieved”.

If it didn’t have the past tense た, it would be かんがえかた.
As it often is after a verb stem.

As a standalone word, it’s read as かた when it means “person” (e.g. 日本の方, which is a slightly more formal way of saying 日本人).
