不可解なぼくのすべてを | Week 1 Discussion ♀♂

I was on the fence about this book, because I’m already reading Takagi-san & Girls last tour, but I’m going to give this a try.

Slighly related topic

I have been watching quite a bit of Okayu (a japanese VTuber) recently and I was listening to this song while reading this weeks part and it was almost frighteningly fitting

Oh, I never saw this guide before and I always wanted something like this! Thanks for the link!

Oh, no furigana, I somehow missed that (read the synopsis, never checked the pages :stuck_out_tongue: )

I’m «cheating» by dual reading with the English version (got volume 1 and 2 in English, all 4 in Japanese)
Want to know an official translation of any specific page, just tag me and I’ll share  (is ok as long as only one here and there)

I also found this gender role test by chance on one of my FB groups.
It’s a bit stereotypical, but still a bit fun!
Keeping it clean, and though about the topic it isn’t about the story, so drop down:

Gender Role Test

Gender Role Test

I got the score I expected, and many others did too (some said they didn’t get their true self, so it ain’t perfect)

じゃない is not always negation. It can be an affirmation depending on the intonation. It will function as something like adding “isn`t it?” in English.

Gender Role test stuff

I thought the test would be fun to take, and somewhat relevant to the book topic
Not wholly surprised about my results, but it was a bit heavier on the masculine side than I might have guessed. However, that’s why “gender roles” don’t have to be anything more than what they are - cultural stereotypes. I’ve always been supportive of the mindset of “you be you”, especially defining (or not defining) who you are gender-wise. One of the reasons I was interested to join-in on this read!

Thanks for sharing!

Oooh a test, shiny!

Test results

I honestly thought I would get more balanced results (as I feel neutral), but the use of the word “casual” is just hilarious.

“Casually Female”
This is a fun expression!

I like it, too! It sounds like “you don’t have to be like that, just when you feel like it”.

It also reminds me of this:

Mentions adult stuff

“I’m not gay, I just fuck guys for fun cause they are easy to get”
Not sure how legit, but I kinda love the concept.
I wonder if it might be more Bi, but afraid to commit to a gay relationship due to social norms…

That was fun! The result isn’t quite what I expected, but it doesn’t feel wrong. I’m sure a few years ago it would have been quite different, though.

Another casually female type. :sparkles:

Gender stereotypes are dumb (even if they do exist, sadly), but I love doing tests!
