Ooh thanks for the info, and nice to have you! IIRC Steam considers it acceptable grounds for a refund if the game goes on sale within the 2 week window after you buy it, but that might be too tight for anyone here (and is still subject to the 2 hour maximum playtime as well, though I’ve heard of them overlooking that in the sale situation in the past sometimes).

Haha I was looking at the price everyday for like two months prior to the start, of course it’s on sale now

Oh dang, Textractor is not working properly anymore, it’s consistently happening at the same places in door 4, even after restarting the game.
Don’t know if anyone has a tip?
Up to that point in the game the sentences were matched at 100%, but suddenly a whole sentence becomes “。”, and if I try another “end point” I do get all the characters from the sentence but everything is duplicated and a mess, example
どうか私に、道を示す光をお与えください。
becomes
どうどか私うどにか私う、かにど私、うどかに私、うかに私、に、道を道示すを道光示すをを道お道示光すを与を示光おえ示くすを与だ光おえさをく与だおいおえくさ。与えだいくさ。えだいくさ。だいさ。い。

It looks weird even in the backlog, probably something with encoding?
The squares were normal characters when displayed on the normal screen

It’s weird that the game would suddenly bug out like that. Did you attempt to reload to a previous door to see if it still works?

Pretty sure it’s the game. Only happens when it’s sentences said by a certain person with a certain hair color. Pretty sure the game is just trying to tell me that she’s a witch.

This is part of what I posted under the secrets in door 4; the squares are intentional. I wonder if the way this door messes with the backlog is also screwing with textractor now, then.
For what it’s worth, my lunahook one is still working just fine.

Oh, sorry I saw your post but wanted to try to discover some things by myself! But then it makes sense, whatever they did to hide it from the backlog is screwing up with my Textractor. Witch confirmed.

Totally unplayable for me now, don’t know if it’s just this scene and it will get better afterwards, but it’s taken me too long to get through it, so frustrating. I’m willing to try lunahook but can’t find it, only finding Lunatranslator, do you have a link maybe?

Seems to be the same thing. I dunno if it was renamed or just inconsistently uses the name but even in the comments here there are people calling it lunahook.
Dunno if mod version differences will change anything else here but it’s worth a shot. On my end it was picking up some junk text related to font colors and stuff IIRC, so I put in this regex filter:
[\u0000-\u2fff\ua000-\uffff]
and that made it work (nearly) perfectly with the right hook. As I mentioned it mildly freaks out at 「あなた」but that’s rare, and it duplicates lines when they add on but that just messes with your character count but stays totally usable. At least for me.
Also the small consolation is assuming it’s the backlog stuff (which happens on and off here but does kinda heavily when it hits), this is the shortest door and probably the only one doing that kind of thing IIRC?

Thanks! Yeah read some comments on Reddit and it seems like Luna Translator got more popular than Luna Hook so it became the main program. Got it working I think.
Pretty cool but very dangerous, I think I will try to disable the English translation, otherwise I know I will be reading only that..

Do you know if it can be set up to be in the clipboard automatically like textractor could? Can’t seem to find that setting.
Edit: Found it! Thanks to reddit again. Options → core settings → text output → clipboard → auto output

Just in case, since you’re on Door 4 already, will give you a bit of a tiny gameplay spoiler to it, the squares are intentional, and there MIIIGHT or MIIIGHT not be more of it, so check on your backlog in the text often because you might be in for a ride when things start happening, if you don’t check your backlog over those scenes, you will completely miss it ^^
I remember when I saw the squares happening early in my English version I started being curious and I kept checking on backlog and I do not regret having done it ^^

Only just asking myself this question now but… how do you pronounce 娘 in 白い髪の娘? I recently read an episode of Satori Reader where it was read こ (like 子), that makes more sense to me than むすめ?

I definitely read it むすめ but that’s a good question. I think I’ve seen it read at こ in other contexts too.
