Everyone is welcome to read at their own pace and post any impressions, theories, or questions at any time within this thread. Those of us starting together may loosely informally stick together, but please feel free to chime in any time!

- When asking for help, do your best to provide context. Pasted text, screenshots, descriptions, etc. Unlike book clubs we can’t flip to relevant pages, so we may need a little help identifying exactly what is being discussed.
- Feel totally at ease to ask questions or give your thoughts, any time! Clubs live and die by participation, and asking whatever question you have, no matter how silly it may seem, helps others who are reading it and even the answerer themselves.
- Have fun, and do your best to interpret anything said with as much good faith as possible

I finally finished door 6! It certainly took longer than I expected, I had sort of forgotten how it’s structured around here. Suffice to say the door contents are probably half or less and we have a very long in between section. I’m choosing to count everything until you get DOOR 7 on the screen as falling under 6 for thread purposes, but I’ll separate them into two sections.
The door
It’s nice to see things wrapping back together and getting “the maid’s” perspective, understanding why she is always interested in ミシェル in particular but also so cryptic. Rose family backstory too! Was fun seeing a kind of grumpy old man open up and it’s really funny that the lie about how he died somehow got mutated into what メル says in door 1. I don’t have a lot to say here – it’s a story trying to show the mental toll of existing for centuries on top of most of your time being spent in a world of darkness and nothing so it sure is dreary. The commentary about creating a shell to protect yourself from the world’s harshness, then eventually losing track of the real you, is pretty good.
After
メル as the annoying rose garden fool was kinda making me laugh, but after that, oh man. I really like how this VN will change its presentation, even if going into NVL text mode and full on telling-only with a single backing track and little background image variation is obviously more simple and monotonous. She’s narrating it all to us and it feels different across the board.
Not a chapter for the squeamish. Now we have the tragic life of the witch and even Morgana is a sympathetic character, just someone lashing out in pain. The description around the time she’s in the tower and seeing birds, hearing people through the windows really does get to me. Dreadful tale, in the good way.
I thought I remembered something about gender with ミシェル, and now I’m really curious to see how Door 7 works out because like I’ve said, my memory has faded so much on these details. Now that I’m older and the world has changed a bit around gender things it feels like wading into a minefield if you don’t know to totally trust the author, but this VN is clearly super sympathetic to its characters so I have a lot of hope for this to be presented well, through the lens of like middle ages people dealing with it, heh.
Feeling pretty good about my progress, but knowing the final chapter is like more than double the length of these here makes it feel like I really have 3 to go rather than 2.

Interesting, so far I’ve been counting a door as finished when the Steam achievement popped up. I think that might be at a different time than door 7 starting?
Also oops I finished the game again (Ending 4)

Yeah I wasn’t getting popups cause I’ve already played it before, but you can kind of tell where the story stops. Often the gap is fairly small between a door ending and the next starting (there’s always a screen saying “Door X” at the start) but they get longer near the end here so I was just looking for where to place the in between stuff.

I just finished door 6 
(unlocked the Steam achievement).
So do you confirm that what you wrote in your “After” section is what I’m about to see now, it’s after door 6 but before door 7? Fata Morgana, The story behind the story. Just want to double check to not read spoilers

Wasn’t expecting this part to be so long! In fact it was longer than “door 6” (which was 36k, and this part 42k).

Okay I feel that I am a bit slow but it started to come together when I saw this sentence…
Previously the witch had said that she was making the cursed men come back to life or something like that. Then there was something about the fact that the 3 men from the 3 doors seemed to know each other, when they handed their respective keys to Michel.
Then the boy from the witch’s story had 亜麻色の髪 but I thought that it couldn’t be Mel due to the story of the witch having to be way before the 1700s or even the 1000s.. But now with this sentence I guess it starts to make sense:
領主 would be Jakopo
男と would be crazy blood thirsty Yukimasa
青年 would be Mel
Exciting that things are coming together, I wasn’t expecting that!
I wonder if 亜麻色の少女 is also Nelly and 修道女 would be Maria? If feel like remember her saying that she was a 聖女 in door 2. Then we almost have the full cast.
Now as things were wrapping up with Morgana’s story (and the fate of the three men being confirmed), I was just thinking to myself, “well now we only need Michel’s backstory”, and then the bomb of the letter dropped. Alright, time to take a deep breath before going to the next door!
Also small milestone, 397.755 char, almost 400k
