のぼる or あげる?

So, I take a Japanese class at school, and they don’t use any kanji for that class (solely hiragana and katakana), So I looked to WaniKani to help fill that hole that my class was not providing. However, I’m getting some mixed signals between the two. My school sensei put in the class notes that あげる means “to climb”, but WaniKani says “to climb” is のぼる?

Is there a clear answer between which one is correct, or is it merely just a difference in nuance and they’re close synonyms? Even if it’s just that one is used more often than the other, I would appreciate anyones input.

I can’t really see how あげる could mean climb… are you sure you are recalling correctly?

I think this is their “deleted” post mentioned in のぼる or あがる?(Asking again lol). Probably just got temporarily delisted since they’re a new user. (They said あげる was a typo.)
