Does anybody happen to know why WK included 田代島? Is it really that important to teach this reading for 代? If they are going to follow that path there are plenty of other readings in proper names to be taught for various kanji. e.g. 水上温泉

Prince, queen and princess are often used in manga and LNs though.
For 円い, it’s a way to teach the kunyomi reading, this is the case for many things, they will give you a vocab with the kanji to teach you the other reading(s) for it
