I caught up with the anime today ( 
) and now I need to know how the story continues. And since I already have the ebook from when this bookclub started, I can now read it 
And I also think if I didn’t know the setting (her being abducted and all), some things would have been much harder to understand at first read.
Just one sentence in chapter 2 that I couldn’t make sense of.
色恋の刺激の少ないここでは、すでに男でない宦官ですら刺激の対象になるらしい。女官をやめた後、宦官の妻になるという話もちらほら聞く。女色に比べればまだ健全なのだろうが、やはり猫猫は首を傾げてしまう。
When I read this, from the context I either expected the word 女色 to mean 女同士の恋愛, or I thought it could be a term for a man that is too obsessed with women (sexually) so that a 宦官 would be preferable. But I tried looking it up and couldn’t really find anything to support either of these meanings. Just that it means woman’s charms or (a man’s) lust for women. But who is lusting for whom? The women in the court lusting for other women? And marrying a 宦官 is healthier / normal compared to what?
Maybe someone still has this thread on watching would be interested in other’s thoughts.
