Using japanese keyboard on phone

I like the kana keyboard. Took a bit to get used to, but now it feels about as natural as the English keyboard. However, for symbols and numbers I revert back to the English keyboard usually.

Almost all Japanese people use the romaji keyboard and so do I. You end up saving a ton of time anyways since auto complete in Japanese tends to work pretty well. Half the time, I don’t even have to write that many symbols.

To be honest, with predictive text I’m not convinced a keyboard layout is faster, because it’s much easier to have spot-on accuracy with only nine buttons to contend with. But then, that’s just what I’m used to ^ ^

I recently started using the hiragana keyboard and used it for my reviews. I made a few (a lot) of mistakes in the beginning, but I didn’t give up and it started to get easier with time. In my opinion it’s pretty easy to use once you get used to it.

And it has the added bonus of me having to really really think about my answers before answering, resulting in a better memory of kanji as well as the hiragana characters.

I love the kana keyboard. I’m actually looking for a good romaji keyboard with the same layout, with groups of characters rather than qwerty. If anyone knows one one, please let me know.
