Show used kanji name in composition (or display all variants)

When learning vocabulary, on the first page we have “Kanji composition”, which is very nice:

However, Kanjis can have multiple meanings and https://www.wanikani.com/kanji/運 has “carry” and “luck”.

Later on, on “meaning” page we get the mnemonic with “carry” to somehow shoehorn it.

But even on https://www.wanikani.com/vocabulary/運 vocab we have “carry” next to the kanji:

Which is mildly confusing (and often requires clicking on the kanji to get into the details)

  • on item/lesson page display kanji name/meaning that’s related to the parent vocabulary (if it’s luck and uses “luck” then display “luck”
  • and/or indicate that there are multiple meanings?

This is a feature that has been asked for a few times before, myself being one that asked about it. Maybe more requests will help raise the chances.

The problem is, there are many meaning of the kanji, most of the time, thus displaying more than one would be difficult. That is why WK chose one of the meaning. At the end of the day, although we can derive the meaning of vocab from the meaning of the kanji, we still need to memorize and understand the vocab meaning, reading, and usage separately.

I tried searching but couldn’t find anything relevant.

Yeas, with certain Kanjis displaying multiple meanings would be very problematic due to the number of those but at least matching certain meaning during vocab learning so it makes more sense would be nice.

Alternatives could be displayed on mouseover for example…
