Yeah, I switched to reading + Yomichan + Anki recently as well. Feels like on top of WaniKani that would probably be the most streamlined approach to making it easier to remember stuff.
I know this is not universal, but just like with English, reading actually makes me want to use the words and grammar structures I pick up .
The correct stroke order according to the Japanese government isn’t the same as the one according to Chinese government though, so I don’t really think Chinese characters get that impossible to read just because you don’t write them with the correct™ stroke order.
Someone can write with completely “wrong” stroke order and still have 10x more legible handwriting than someone with “perfect” stroke order.
