I didn’t have much time. In FFVII Rebirth I just watched some cutscenes in the village.

Up to page 72 - I really like how Kawase drew many of his scenes during the evening/nighttime and experimented with interesting lighting and weather - many have rain or snow. The scenes are such mood pieces, I get lost in them.
Note to self - get more reference photos during the evening/dark light

Coming back to this thread after reading through the excitement of the readathon thread feels like the comfort of your own bed after a thrilling but busy vacation. ![]()
Despite reading for a very long time yesterday, I still wanted to read today—in fact, perhaps even more so because of it! Reading is funny that way, I think, at least for me. Anyway, I felt like I didn’t retain much of 大海原と大海原1from the end of my sprint yesterday, so I started from the beginning again. Glad I did because the first two sections were tricky. There are a lot of unexplained events right from the get go, so I’m looking forward to putting the pieces together as I continue.
I’m finding it interesting that each series I pick up has its own set of common phrases and grammar structures. I suppose that happens with English too but I just don’t notice it. Still, I feel like by reading different manga I’m slowly building an understanding of the language by getting used to different expressions of it. How cool!
Also explains why every time I start a new series it feels difficult… ![]()

おひさ~ I’m back to normal updates now, the past few days have been recovery days after the readathon and slight fatigue that followed - it was definitely worth it though!
These were the results from the readathon a couple days ago - most of my reading was from the sixth volume of 安達としまむら (~140 pgs) which I was able to finish, plus a good chunk of ストロベリーパニック!
The couple of days since the readathon have been pretty light, but both of my books in progress are as follows:
ストロベリーパニック 第一巻 (up to 37%)
ビバリウム Adoと私 (up to 65%)
I other bookish news, my copy of the novel 神去なあなあ日常 arrived a few days ago - it’ll be my first proper novel as opposed to light novels so I’m quite nervous about it, but I’m excited for the challenge! I’ll probably start reading it once I’ve finished ビバリウム and we’ll see how things go from there ![]()
Absolutely, I couldn’t agree more - it’s good to be back ![]()
