Yeah, I gotta be honest, the demo of a port of a game I’ve already played is more captivating than Dragon Quest VII Reimagined which I have bought with actual money
Oh well, it is what it is, no point crying over spilt milk
Language-wise, I have no issues with FF7 Rebirth in Japanese, but the skill descriptions in the battle menus have me going like
Part of my playtime yesterday was the Switch 2 demo but I also played a bit of the full game on my PS5. Two tidbits I found out in my short time playing through a later point in the game:
Near the finale of the game there is a place name with an interesting grammar structure: 忘らるる都 which apparently uses a classical Japanese form (my guess is that in contemporary Japanese, it would be 忘れられた都?). Given the bigger context, it makes sense they use this archaic form, it just adds more character and flavor ![]()
The other thing is Red XIII’s voiced by Usopp’s voice actor in Japanese and I just can’t unhear that
