Oh, I haven’t posted all week
And still gotta catch up on the posts in the thread, too
Let’s hope I haven’t forgotten anything
Monday, April 20
I think I didn’t read after my readathon hours were over, so that day is included in my last post
Tuesday, April 21
I have read some article on Asahi Shinbun about an event at the manga museum in Kyoto where some people can spend the entire night reading manga for free. Only 20 spots available though so you gotta be very lucky in the raffle to get one!
Wednesday, April 22
One Piece chapter 187
Thursday, April 23
One Piece chapter 188
Yesterday, my new book order arrived ![]()
Look at the beautiful Nausicaä manga
Some more photo spam for those who are interested
Apothecary diaries light novels
I have started reading the first volume digitally and got through half of it, now I’m switching to the physical books. It feels nice to hold it in your hands! (I hope my understanding won’t suffer too much from not looking up things so frequently as you can easily do with a digital edition)
Alongside the first volume in Japanese, I also got the English one to make it a bit easier to get accustomed to the setting etc. as I hadn’t watched the anime or read the manga previously. Look at the size difference!
And the English version is backwards? ![]()
I’ve heard online that the “Best Essay [insert year]” books are supposed to be some good reading exercise, so I got one of those now, as well. As the name suggests, they’re collections of essays on all kinds of topics. This book in particular has almost 80 different essays if I have not grossly miscounted them. Also, this is one of the rare Japanese hardcover books—aaaand the cover has some damage
You might need to enlarge the photo to see it in the top center, where the rooftop is in the image
I’m very excited about my new books and couldn’t really appreciate them yesterday as I was still in workweek stress mode
But now it’s weekend time! (readathon time?? anyone?). Have read a bit of Apothecary Diaries today already, but I will only make my update post for today’s reading at a later point
Nice, glad you’ve enjoyed it! We’re not the only ones reading Witch Hat Atelier here at the moment ![]()
in a strange turn of events, I am actually now awaiting my first Witch Hat Atelier book in French because they have some really nice editions. Even though it’s not Japanese reading, I might sneek some photos in this thread once it arrives
