Continuing into the first chapter. Finished part 1 of chapter 1. Tiny read is going well I even practiced reading out loud, that was fun. Helps me make sure I don’t skip unknown words. There was one word I skipped intentionally because it has a ton of readings and now was not the time for handling leeches.
I learned new expression: 節を付ける (fushi wo tsukeru) = to sing (chant, speak) with a melody or rhythm
Yay! I’ve finished the last remaining ending of Parfait Remake and yes, Rikako’s TRUE ending is one of the bests (together with Reia’s). Tomorrow I’ll continue with the next VN: “FLOWERS: Le Volume sur Printemps”.
One of my favorite scenes (hidden because it is a huge spoiler)
Today I read chapter 23 of しろくまカフェ in which we finally meet 半田さん, he is going to a mixer 「合コン」with his good looking coworker so he feels insecure. パンダさん thinks Handa is a nice guy <3
4/10/26 WK L:32 4 : コナの大冒険、第30話
Daily reading done
Yet another great chapter. Such a fun and exciting story. Loving that I’m finally reading this one. Edit: I got bonus reading time, also read Ch 31 and 32.
Got through the rest of chapter 2 of 届け!HOPEFUL STAGE♪ and started chapter 3. Ended right before the next plot point in the story where MMJ do their big コラボ配信.
Also got a Bunpro subscription (since my company has some random benefit that let’s me expense it) so I’m going through some of their N5/N4 graded readings since it is a bit painful having to look up so many words in my normal “fun” reading. Not going to log them here because they’re short, basic practice passages, but it’s probably better to do a mix of native level fun content alongside readings that are better aligned with my actual skill level.
Not the best read on 1/10 but going well since I went on holiday Friday. I’m now up to date with every active book club. I’m planning to jump in late to the IBC and also try to finish バター if I can. Finished 変な家2 early which gives me a good window to start another book!
Finished 黄泉のツガイ 2
I really enjoyed reading it, and it wasn’t to hard overall either. I probably had to look up ~5 words per page on average, but the story was well paced, so it never got too tedious.
I found ルリドラゴン on Bookwalker, the first volume of which is free until November, so that’s probably what I’ll read until my physical manga arrive.
Today the in-person Yuri Book Club that I host met to discuss this month’s read of 裏世界ピクニック1 (Otherside Picnic). Everyone else reads in English, but this was the first time that I read the assignment in Japanese, which was really cool! Had a really nice discussion and unanimously agreed to continue reading the series, which made my heart sing a little since I suggested it in the first place.
We’re reading the next two volumes for the second week of November, and while I do have quite a bit of time before then I want to get a head start so I don’t feel rushed later. And, hence, on a wave of 裏世界ピクニック euphoria, I started volume 2 today. A nice 51 page read of the first chapter is a great start!
Ha! Seems like something I need to read along with you! Adding it to the list, thanks!
the plot thickens! big revelations! our heroine finally realised daisy’s true identity, although we still don’t know what burdens is he carrying exactly. looking forward to finding that out, volume 4 starts tomorrow. but so does the week, so most likely my reading speed will plummet
I will carry on with the challenge from Summer to Fall! I started logging my reading on Natively (which I noticed some other people doing here) since the daily checkoff kind of motivates me. But I’m also motivated by the virtual book clubs and reading challenges and finding out what other people are reading so I’ll continue to check in here
Currently reading this with the Intermediate Book club (started 9/6):
孤島の鬼
Read chapter 28 - didn’t have any time to read yesterday but managed to get some in today. Will start on the Poe for the Halloween reading tomorrow!
Read chapter 24 of しろくまカフェ(1) which was short and sweet. パンダくん discovered ペンギンさん true height and then along with しろくまさん they went to an onsen famous for 美人の湯 (the beauties of the hot water) which turned out to be monkeys hehehe.
