December 20
It was time for the Readathon. I read as much as possible which was not much compared to others.
I played 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡 following the terrorists trying to prevent them from escaping. But it was other groups to caught them before us and like expected the other countries took advantage of the situation. While Crossbell is independent for now they need to pay money to the two bigger countries surrounding it. Of course it’s just a question of time when Crossbell will be invaded. Now we finally got some vacation visiting the Michalam Wonder Land.
Yeah I spent like this entire volume reading ジェフリー as ジュエリー and vice versa. I don’t know how dyslexia works with 日本語, but it’s probably something like that.
December 18th!
Today was my last day of work for the year, which meant just a little read today since I ended up at the pub after work and didn’t get home until nearly midnight - 2 chapters of からかい上手の 元 高木さん 13.
December 19th!
Another day of just a little bit of reading - had to leave for an event in London at 3:30, and the morning was spent running pre-christmas errands! But managed another 2 chapters of からかい上手の 元 高木さん 13.
December 22nd!
Read the final chapter of 夜の名前を呼んで 3. Also about 3 pages of 探偵犬クリス 柴犬探偵、盗まれた宝石を追う!.
Now that we are fast approaching the end of the year I really want to finish off all of the manga I have in progress. I don’t know why i always want to do this, but it feels cleaner somehow
December 23rd!
Read the last chapter of カードキャプターさくら 8 and also (finally!) finished off 探偵犬クリス 柴犬探偵、盗まれた宝石を追う!. Slightly ashamed to admit I started reading that in May .
December 24th!
Read the final chapter of 鋼の錬金術師 13, and also the last few chapters of からかい上手の 元 高木さん 13.
There is something strangely pleasing about coincidentally finishing two different Volume 13s in the same day!
Merry Christmas to everyone who is celebrating tomorrow!
I’ll be spending the day eating my bodyweight in cheese and watching Lord of the Rings, but I’m sure I’ll squeeze in some reading somewhere!

Quite a long one, but just managed it!

December 21
Second day of the Readathon I played more 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡
and enjoyed the vacation at the beach. Of course if you played the Legend of Hero games you will immediately know that it’s the calm before the storm. Certainly after the vacation all hell will break loose and there will be lots of main story developments.
I spent much of my time today reading Magyk and working on a new MoW fic. It’s short, but I’m a slow writer 99% of the time. And it turns out I need the name of the ship you arrive on, which I never wrote down, so I’ll need to start a new game. That’s hardly a chore though lol
Probably won’t be tomorrow though, since we’ll be visiting family. But I’ll be taking JR, and probably an EN book, although one that’s smaller than Magyk if it’s gonna fit in the pouch with JR. Or at all. I made that thing with JP paperbacks in mind, not EN ones.

Recently got a JP game that was released to the Switch 2 that I really like. Played for about an hour, or until the scene changed. Being bombarded with all the kanji I learned and no option for furigana had me like:

I played a bit 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡. It was finally time to enter the park, where you can visit the attractions and increase the bonds with the other characters.
Well, we didn’t end up staying as long as I’d thought—or feared, once we got there. Since it was warm out today (in the mid 70s), I’d hoped everyone would go out into the backyard and I could just sit inside and read while petting Ruby, their dog, like I did the 4th of July I was there. Nope. They stayed inside. And since they’re Conservatives, they just had to spend some of that time talking about some of the slurs you’re not allowed to say anymore. Ugh. I did read about a quarter of Magyk (which I’d brought after all) during the lulls, but there was no way I’d be able to concentrate enough to read JR, so I didn’t read any of that until after we got home. Though by that point I was too invested in Magyk to leave much time for it lol

Oh no. Someone approached Seigi calling him “おにいさぁん,” and I automatically read it in Maa-san’s voice. A part of me hopes it isn’t her, but the other part of me is pretty sure it is. Her voice/the way she talks is so obnoxious, ugh. At least this is one of the shorter cases. Although I have a feeling this won’t be the only one she shows up in, since iirc Richard knows her.
