All the mystery picks have been pretty long recently, so went with the pre-vetted again, which was - ああ東京は食い倒れ.
The children’s stories have led me into a false sense of thinking I can read Japanese, this one quickly reminded me that I still have a long way to go. There were many foods listed here, in both kanji and katakana, the katakana ones especially took a bit of working out at times.
Tiny read while traveling. I’ve been very social this and last weekend. Feels good to meet friends again :3 One more week and then time for christmas vacation, then I can visit family.
Finished one chapter, 70% into the second one. I think it’ll be manageable to catch up with the club in two weeks. This season I feel like always catching up, first because of trips then because of JLPT. The winter challenge should be better! But may be I also should skip the next advanced book club… We’ll see.
逆転裁判, 1h50m
Finished the case! It took me soooo long. I didn’t touch the PS for eternity.
I didn’t read over the weekend but I finished 修学旅行で仲良くないグループに入りました today. There is one episode left in the drama too. I plan to read book 2 as its not too difficult for my level. Also I read a bit of the authors forward and was surprised that its a debut but I guess it makes sense being so easy to understand.
Doing better since the exam but I’ve been unwell with a cold (I did my best not to cough during the exam and suppressing it seems to have made things worse ).
I’ve reached the point where despite being about 3 volumes ahead at one point, the 約束のネバーランド club will catch me next week so I’ll start reading again. I stopped when I was really behind g with everything which shows that I’ve been in that state for months…
I am slowly catching up with current reads and nothing that I’m actively reading is more than 3 weeks behind now. Aim for end of the week is nothing more than 2 weeks behind!
This was a hard one. It was full of Mahjong jargon - I know a few, but only the words from hearing them rather than seeing how they are written. So I got rather lost. It didn’t help that even though I enjoy Mahjong (I mean, I do have my own Mahjong set and everything) I didn’t find this piece very interesting, and what with it being difficult to read as well I kept losing focus many times.
I changed my pc layout situation. It is suddenly easier to read. Spent 2-3 hours finishing book, finally! It was good, I like. And definitely not L22 as natively initially suggested. More like L32.
For once I’m consolidating not because I forgot to post, but because I read right through midnight and didn’t even notice
・117 pages of 宝石商リチャード氏の謎鑑定, finishing the volume!
・50 pages of 宝石商リチャード氏の謎鑑定 天使のアクアマリン, reading case 1 and leaving off on pg 60
That’s one more person who now thinks Seigi and Richard are dating, and ofc Seigi’s oblivious as usual lmao
Seigi absolutely had a crush on his senpai in karate back in middle school, and he actually might not have been completely oblivious about it?? First he feeds Richard fruit caramels while he’s driving and now this, I think I’m losing my mind. And case 3 ended with Seigi asking Richard if he’s free after this and nothing came of it, and case 4 ends with Richard asking Seigi if he’s free after this and they go out to eat.
I think Seigi also made the bartender at the hotel bar that Richard frequents think they’re dating too. It’s the first time Richard’s brought someone with him and that someone’s asking to go halfsies?
I don’t get why Seigi thinks the married couple in 3-1 are cute when the husband only cares about his own interests and puts down the things his wife likes, and the wife finds her husband’s infodumping about stones annoying. She claims she doesn’t hate it, but she’s certainly had more than enough of it. They don’t seem like a good fit for each other, honestly.
「三人も男を産んだんですよ。一人も家事を手伝いやしない」
Maybe… you should have taught them to? You can’t complain about your children not having values that you never raised them to have. I mean, you can. Clearly. But it’s nonsensical.
