October 17th :jack_o_lantern:

Finished the rest of chapter five and read the entirety of six too.

In ch.6, Akutagawa gives a thorough description of the hell screen itself. His descriptions sound very similiar to some of the artworks I was looking at from the ‘hell in Japanese art’ book I read awhile back. I wonder, since a lot of them have been well known in Japan for a long time, if he was influenced at all by some of these traditonals artworks, and which ones

Just did one quest in 英雄伝説 碧の軌跡. Lol at that speed I will never finish the game.

・ 新にほんご500問 N1 – Did week 2, day 1-6

文字: 30/30
語彙: 26/30
文法: 22/30

Yay, doing better on vocab. But grammar-kun… What happened :durtle_durtverted_lvl1: ? I’ll redo grammar quiz tomorrow and then do day 7 at some point.

・ 拝啓見知らぬ旦那様、離婚していただきますV〈中〉 (17% -->30%)

One of the characters is so unrealistic, it’s ridiculous. And in the previous book too (major spoiler) the main character couple got a baby and the mother has no sense of danger for this kid getting lost or hurt. Where’s your mother’s instinct?? What’s worse, the kid is supposed to be 3 years old now and the author is treating her not like a 3 year old. She can speak fluent keigo and do curtesy to other nobles, she can sense danger and she’s fed up with her mother not being able to pick up the father’s moody disposition. He’s the one not sharing his thoughts or emotions. I just had to vent.

Finished a chapter

One of my biggest reading pet peeves is kids that don’t act like kids :joy:

I have seen 屁 in one of my random readings today, so now I can make fart jokes, also thanks to wanikani who taught me 毒ガス. I probably could quit learning kanji now, my teaching is complete.
Probably a day that will stay in the memories / study log.

I read diligently every day, and yet somehow I’ve ended up with this as my to-read list for the weekend:

Parents, please talk to your children about the dangers of joining too many book clubs.

コーヒーが冷めないうちに〜245pg

Watch out, you’ll get haunted by neglected book clubs youkai durtle

Found a pretty interesting dictionary entry when I looked up what ありとあらゆる means  One of the few times where the Japanese is actually easier than the English

Reading part of the book clubs and just a bit of 血の轍, a bit distracted these days

Hey, I read that last challenge & really enjoyed it

I love how gluttonous he is

I always liked horror and vampires (Hellsing was one of the shows that got me into anime back in the day), so Happiness was a great read for that alone as a beginning Japanese learner. I’m getting to the point where I can read through most of it without looking stuff up, a lot of repeated words and phrases help out with that. Without giving spoilers, I like how the series never seems to go in the directions you’d expect from the vampire genre
