In 2017 I got a job at a university and one of the perks was free undergrad classes. Grad courses were free but the tuition was taxed as income. We had a few Japanese classes (not even a minor, just some electives) and it was something I was interested in when I was younger. I was 39 at the time so I think that’s probably close enough 
The biggest problem I have is time competition. I’ve got a dog and kids and a full time job (not necessarily order of importance there hahaha) so free time is compressed and I have to make choices if I want to study at night or do something else.
