I can’t fault you - I went to go see Poirot’s apartment last time I was in London.
I’ve really enjoyed watching Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories and Hibana Spark. Ainori Love Wagon season 1 is also enjoyable. Haven’t managed to watch season 2 as I’m not a big fan of the new members (and one old member coming back)
Right now, I’m watching 全裸監督 (The Naked Director), The House (only Japanese subtitles so the struggle is real) and I’ve managed to create a Terrace House watching club with some of my roommates once a week. It’s really fun to see how we react differently and how we laugh at different things. (we all agree that Kaori is the MVP though)
Last time I checked Netflix they didnt have all the Shark Loan Ushijima-kun movies/seasons. Which is a shame since it’s a pretty awesome thing (though it lacks the darkness of the manga somewhat).
I freaking love that show!
Watched all the episodes they have on Netflix - wish they would post the rest of the episodes aired
Just gave the first episode of this a try, and wow do I empathise much more with the guy than I do with the girl.
Mostly…
Heh I just watched it and super opposite. Bad experiences isn’t an excuse to be a total wanker to everyone.
LOL, he’s just misunderstood. The premise of it is ludicrous but I think the way that affection grows between is actually pretty realistic and I like how their relationship is based on lots of small acts of kindness, rather than big gestures. It’s the most genuinely romantic thing I’ve ever watched. The end credits have also made me really excited about reading the manga when my japanese is better!
Eheheh I literally had a part in my post where I said “the HE’S JUST MISUNDERSTOOD shoujo trope worked on me when it was The Beast, but anything after 1991 doesn’t get a pass” but I deleted it because it seemed mean ^^
But to each their own! Everyone has different tropes they let their media get away with.
Love the one in Tokyo - couldn’t stand the cast in the Hawaiian one though!
Yeah, he ins’t the nicest guy lol…
At least he isn’t borderline abusive/controlling like the main male lead in いたずらなキッス.
Haven’t seen that one yet. I powered through the Karuizawa one in the span of two weeks!
I watched this one, mostly out of boredom, but I couldn’t really enjoy it. I mean, the guy is annoying and arrogant (in that order), and the girl is annoying and persistent. In the end it’s a combination of annoying + annoying. which is annoying. No where in this world would such a pairing end in anything but disaster…
But if you keep being nice to a mean guy over and over again without receiving a shred of human kindness in return eventually he’ll turn into husband material!
Yeah, I definitely think the show trying to push those two together was kind of a terrible idea - but I did like Kotoko!
I actually thought she was pretty funny - I have some friends who are lowkey like her
Well to be fair, she wasn’t annoying 100% of the time, I did find her funny a lot of the times. But in the end she’s just stupidly in love with a jerk.
I’m a big fan of Kakegurui - just the finished second anime and thought it was great. The drama didn’t do as much for me but I’ll watch the 2nd season as well. Then I just saw they just released a movie drama in May which features the actress who played Nao in Good Morning Call…curious if anyone caught it.
Been watching the Naked Director (全裸監督) on Netflix for…er, kanji study . Actually, the story and production is very good and it’s great to see a larger budget from a Netflix production get put into a drama series and do it well (plus some 80s era Japan nostalgia…among other things). Some parts had me laughing pretty good too.
