So I’m assuming that you’re on the maximum speed as well. Welcome fellow “死Death”. There is only “地獄Hell” ahead of us.

Seriously though, things start to get out of hand on my side now lol.

Nice! At two thousand burns now it actually feels kinda bad to burn things…

Like, “Oh? I wasn’t sure, but that was right? And now it’s burned and I won’t see it again?”
cue wanikani double-check

With this, if you were to never see it again anywhere in your Japanese journey, then continuing to drill it isn’t a productive use of time.

If it does come up with any sort of regularity, you’ll get to naturally review it and reinforce it as you see it.

Given that the goal is to eventually move past WaniKani, burning is less “goodbye” and more “until next time.”

I understand that, but there are some mitigating factors for me, namely:

  1. As of recently WK is my primary (and sole) source of Japanese exposure.
  2. This feeling only happens with the items I wasn’t sure of - so I get the “ask me again in a week just to be sure” kind of feel.
