Isn’t that always the way - the gains are obvious at the beginner level, but from then on they’re just as hard to achieve but look less impressive….until you read a really advanced level.
Congratulations on reaching Level 60!

Thank you everyone
@MichaelR not so much these days to be honest I have a book in progress in my native language (French) so for now this is my bedtime story; it’s called Âme brisée (“broken soul”, 壊れた魂 こわれたたましい) by Akira Mizubayashi - there is definitely a Japanese version somewhere but it was a gift (and also it’s probably a bit too high level in Japanese for me to fully enjoy it!)
So these days I read a bit of news in Japanese (through NHK easy and Todai Japanese) and I’d also like to read the texts in a textbook that I bought a while ago called “Manekineko, level 2”, which when I bought ended up being a bit overwhelming, but now the texts look much more understandable! So I want to go through them and do the related exercises as well (they have comprehension questions). The texts are all about Japanese culture (geography, history or famous stories) so I find it quite interesting.
There is a library where I live that has a Japanese section so after this I’ll probably go back and borrow what I can find there - usually I choose a manga and 1 or 2 children books (like, novels aimed at 10 year-olds). Last time I read something called ピアニッシシモ by Aoitori Bunko.
