Do you have an ETA? I figure yours should arrive fairly slowly, seeing as we live in the same country and the physical copy I ordered sure isn’t getting here fast.
Yeah, July 22nd - July 25th. Added it in the OP as well
Ah. That’s pretty good, still. I ordered mine from Amazon UK, and it says July 25th–August 11th…
I ordered from Amazon JP; they’re usually pretty fast
You managed to find a seller who would ship to Sweden!?
Yeah, you just have to try a few, or choose an article which is “fulfilled by Amazon”, which always ships to Sweden.
Aghhhh… I’ll keep that in mind for next time. I just tried two of them and figured none would ship to Sweden.
Thank you! Well, my ETA is any time from August 23 to September 27. O.o
Ah, the glories of living in Puerto Rico.
By the way, now that most/all members have their books or have ordered them, should we decide on a tentative start date and add it to the OP?
It looks like everyone will have their books by early August–so the start date could be August 11 at latest, or sooner if everyone has their book before then.
Edit: Spoke too soon–@Answa, I just saw your post. Yikes. So maybe…not Aug. 11? But we gotta start sometime.
Any thoughts, everyone?
I would like someone to add my name please I order the books
Thanks, looking forward to the club
Yeesh… Think you could get a hold of an ebook copy to tide you over?
Added you
Although, I’m not yet finished Genki I, but two chapters away… and also not quite in the book club yet… although I have been following along with both threads… mostly lurking waiting for the grammar and story discussions to start and stuff. (I’ve seen the No. 6 anime and enjoyed it, for the most part. However my memory has become pretty fuzzy about it in certain ways.)
EDIT: There, I made it official, and added myself to the bottom of the member list. XD
Anyone know how much the anime covers? I might watch it alongside reading to make it easier to understand context.
@anon75098302 may have an answer for you.
I’m going to see if I can find any alternatives that ship faster or cave in and get an ebook. I’ll post soon!
I agree with Caracal. We need to decide a cut off date to start so that it doesn’t get continually pushed back. We need to make a decision about whether to start and ask those who are still waiting to read a bit more to catch up or set up deadline (from when the last member gets their book). Although this sounds a little callous, since the majority of us have already the book in their possession we should do the former. That’s just my opinion, though.
Additionally since we are all living in different places in the world, the time difference will play havoc on finding a definite time. Could we possibly us UTC as a medium to communicate time so that we can all be on the same page?
Technically it spans the same essential time frame as the anime but the novels go into far, far more detail. As you can probably guess with there being 9 main books with only 11 episodes of the anime. There is quite the number of differences but that is to be expected. The anime can certainly give that general gist.
(@AnimeCanuck )
Do you mean that all 11 episodes of the anime equal 9 novels, or that the first novel equals the 11 episode anime?
( you too, @anon75098302! : D )
That shouldn’t be needed, should it…? Dates are what matter, not times. Exactly when the discussion starts hardly needs to be strict down to the hour, I think.
