Help!: done lots of WaniKani, but nothing else

I have used Bunpro, yeah. It has helped for sure. I do have more grammar under my belt than perhaps I let on or give myself credit for, but it’s still pretty basic and I don’t feel I can put apply it particularly well.

As far as goals, nothing super specific. I want to be able to watch shows and read and communicate with native Japanese when I am in Japan.

lemme just add this thread to favourites for future references

on another note, now, at the glorious level 6, I finally have enough kanji knowledge to understand the writing of the word 東方

what a great way to end the year

I definitely second the cure dolly vids, the series has helped make sense of so much of the grammar I’d learnt through textbooks/online. It takes a bit to get used to the voice, but the content is fantastic.

Ah yea touhou XD.

Although, I need to study more my self.

You know you’ve been doing WK too long when you can barely read the test questions when it’s all in hiragana but the kanji ones are easy.

I’ve decided to start from scratch with the Marugoto A1 courses, which I think was a good idea. This is exactly what I was looking for! Too bad it only goes through A2, though after that it will be easier to find more resources, I’m sure.

I found this yesterday but have not had time to investigate… looks good even at the free levels. If you have time, this may also works for you.
@alo I know right. That happened a lot to me in the AB book club.

If you’re a bookish sort; I followed Koichi’s suggestion in his blog post A Dictionary of Japanese Grammar - The Tofugu Review and bought A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar and A Dictionary of Intermediate Japanese grammar on amazon. They are suuuper good.

I’d also previously gone through Genki I & 2 as well, and I use other sites like http://maggiesensei.com/ and https://japanesetest4you.com/

(Side note: it’s interesting to see how sometimes Genki and Dictionary of Japanese Grammar series don’t completely align on the meanings or nuances of particular grammar points. I wonder if anyone else has come across this before?)

Wow, that looks like an incredible resource, I’m making an account right now. I’m not entirely sure what’s available for free and what’s not, but the listening comprehension stuff seems pretty solid.
