It does back-to-back meaning/reading with zero configuration.

This is slightly off-topic, but on a related note, I kind of wish there was a bigger discussion about the way WK randomizes meaning/reading. Is there any proof this actually improves rate of learning or retention? I think it actually does the opposite. Before I switched to back-to-back meaning/reading, the meaning and reading always felt “disconnected” from one another.
When quizzed on the meaning, I would remember the meaning without thinking about the reading. When quizzed on the reading, I had a tendency to just sound-it-out without considering the meaning. If I know they’re both coming back-to-back, I consider both at the same time. It creates a mental connection between the meaning and reading.
I really really really think the way WK does it is utterly wrong, and I doubt they have any data to suggest that it improves learning. They just took a “randomized is always better” approach without thinking about it.
