When I stopped being an ALT in 2022, my schools had just recently introduced laptops and stuff to classwork, but writing by hand was still the main way of doing things. I doubt the kids will be taking notes electronically any time soon.

Ah, yeah, I missed the “language” between Japanese and schools.
And assumed we were still on the topic of native writing.
The last time I went to language school in Japan was early 2020, and of course everything was pen and paper (including homework and stuff, and of course tests). In lower levels you could get away with hiragana but in higher levels this was usually frowned upon.
This will be the biggest chunk of prep I need to do when going back to language school in Japan ![]()
