I’m kinda happy I got everything right up to part 3 question 1.
Most learners only study for the JLPT and we get used to the type of questions it asks. I like how this test has different question patterns.

I’ma just dig up this thread to add a fun fact about senbei: fortune cookies are senbei.
To be precise, they’re originally a Japanese food named おみくじせんべい. They were originally brought to America by Japanese immigrants. When said immigrants were all rounded up into internment camps during WWII by the American government, the Chinese restaurants next door happily filled the sudden fortune cookie power vacuum, which is how fortune cookies became forever associated with American-Chinese cuisine.

I just ordered 日本語検定DS, with free expedited shipping for tomorrow. I’m not sure if the test has changed substantially since the game was released more than a decade ago, but I will give my thoughts on it. Maybe make a video.
