I like that Taiki isn’t just falling apart when faced with the other boy who seems to really get along with Chinatsu. I feel like it would have been really easy for the plot to be that he messes up this tournament because he’s thinking about that. Instead, he’s able to put that out of his mind and focus on the task at hand.
The line about not wanting to make her his excuse for losing was really good.
