ch30, p64 – I get that セミにしかみえない means “It looks just like a cicada,” but does anyone have a link to this grammar point? Or can break it down for me? When I search ～しか ～ない I get something else… And when I try to break it down it comes off as “nothing like cicada” “doesn’t look” @ _ @
The NしかVない is usually translated as “only N verbs”, but a more literal translation might be “nothing verbs except for N”. So in this case, “it doesn’t look like anything except a cicada”.

So something like 子供しか騒いでない would be “only kids make noise (/are noisy)”?
“Are making noise”, yes. Just “make noise” would be 騒がない.
