Successful start of the day. Already read around 3 hours and finished 星の王子さま. There were only 40 pages left, but I got hung up on 2 grammar points and fell into a searching rabbit hole.
Next I have to go somewhere and have 50 minutes during the commute where I’ll finish the 16th volume of よつばと.
And after my errand, I’ll continue with キチン which I started recently.
I’ll probably reach 5 hours of reading today if everything goes to plan, which would be great

Wow I just woke up and there’s way too much to catch up on for now - I’ll look back and read later 
I wanted to make a pretty goals post but just never found the time and I’m more interested in hitting the ground running today so I’ll just say it here and maybe I’ll doll it up later
GOALS:
- Beat previous readathon time (somewhere in the 5 hour range I’ll have to check) (it’s 5.5 hours)
- read 40 pages of また、同じ夢を見ていた
And that’s it! I want to keep the page goal super attainable bc I realize if I have a time goal, a page goal feels a bit silly to me, I think I sacrificed comprehension for pages towards the end last time around and I have no interest in doing that again. The only reason I’m leaving one at all is just to ensure I don’t get lazy and read nothing but manga all day lol. Got to get ready for the day but then I’ll be getting a move on!

Finished a chapter of 世にも, it was a short chapter, 5723 characters, and it took me just over an hour. My eyes are droopy and I’m being lulled by the sound of gentle rain, so I may not finish an entire chapter of Noragami before I doze off.

So, I got this bright idea to see if I couldn’t read all of 齋藤孝のイッキによめる! in one day today. To give you a little background, this is a FIRST GRADE reader. I got it at the same time as other first grade readers, and couldn’t make heads or tails of it. I progressed in the other series to the third grade reader, went back, still impossible. I then went on to read over a hundred other books, including adult books and light novels. I thought, surely now I can do it.
So, at 8:38 I started in on this sixteen page story. Let me also add that two of those pages are full-page illustrations, and also the font size is so gigantic that they can only fit ten lines of text on each page. AND IT STILL TOOK ME 20 MINUTES!

Ok, almost ready to begin! Slow start this morning and there are more items on my to-do list today than I was hoping, but I am going to do my physio exercises and eat some breakfast and then get started. My goal is quite a manageable one - reading Vol 6 of よつばと！ - so in between putting in the air conditioners and doing some housecleaning I am optimistic that I can get er done.

Total: 165 pages read in 5 hrs 15 minutes.
I finished all of ふしぎ駄菓子屋 book 4 in one day!
One year ago in the very first readathon I read 13 pages in 2 and a half hours from ふしぎ駄菓子屋 book 1! That’s around 5 pages per hour, or 11 minutes per page. Yesterday, I was able to finish an entire volume from start to finish in one day, with a reading speed of 30 pages per hour/2 minutes per page. 
Book 4 was the last book I own from the Zenitendou series, so I’ll probably move on from the series for now and leave this as a nice ending milestone to this chapter of my learning journey. And next, obviously, I’ll need to aim for reading an entire adult novel in one day…! 
Can’t wait to follow everyone’s progress today and tomorrow!

Good morning again! I actually woke up extremely early today and felt good enough to read a bit more, so I snuck in a teensy bit more

But now, it’s officially 8am once again, so that’s my term done n dusted. 
back to sleep for me, I really did not get a lot last night

This was such a good story! Apparently it’s written by the author of 時をかける少女 | L24 and the explanatory page at the end also introduced the concept of SF.
No improvement in reading speed though!

Anddd that’ll be a wrap for me… I have obligations to attend and my brain is now mulch.
Being able to go through several pages in one day is definitely something that was impossible a few months ago. Tired but very proud of the tangible progress.
The final results is
Chapter 1 (vertical) 55min 1k chars
Chapter 1 again (horizontal) 41min 1k chars
Chapter 2 57min 1.1k chars
Chapter 3 69min (noice) 1.3k chars
Total of 4400 chars in 3h42min.
