So happy to see 森 博嗣 on the list! If you’re looking for “science mystery”, I think his debut すべてがFになる is pretty much that, and it also has case solving (the author was an engineering professor, and apparently does have some mathsy riddles and stuff in some of his books). But I haven’t read myself yet.
Although it is quite long (almost 500 pages, and it’s only the first volume of 10), he also has shorter books, like the series I’m currently reading, starting with 彼女は一人で歩くのか？ (also 10 volumes). But that one is more SF and less mystery, I’d say. I wrote something about story etc. here, if you’re interested.
