Hey guys.
I need some help. To say, I will go to Japan for a month, how would you say it?
一ヶ月日本に行きます
Or
一ヶ月間に行きます
Should I use 間?
And, is か月 the same as ヶ月?
Thanks!

For months and years, you can use 間 or you can omit it (as long as you are talking about a period of time).
Yes
Here’s an article with plenty of examples.

There might be a problem here though with the verb. If you’re talking about a period of time I think you need to use a verb like いる that expresses a state over time. 一か月日本にいます。
The second sentence definitely can’t have that construction.
Less confident about this verb portion though.
Please anyone feel free to disagree, add to it, etc.
I think a safer way is to just split the going and the staying into two parts.
日本に行って、一ヶ月間過ごす予定があります。
