And other awesome puns!

So I was doing a little bit of research on Jisho.org, which is my favourite dictionary, and came across something hilarious.

I was checking up on a colloquialism I’d heard about, すいません, and how it compares to すみません.

I stumbled across すみま千円, and I cannot stop laughing.

After doing a quick search on the forums here, it appears we don’t have a good pun thread going at the moment?

Anyone else got good Japanese puns to share?

These might be pretty standard, but when I first came to Japan my host mother took me to a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant and just let loose on the puns:

いかいかが? How about some squid?
How much do the salmon eggs cost?
How much does the hamachi cost? (That one’s Japanglish, but ah well :stuck_out_tongue: )

And one I made up in response:
あじのあじは?How’s the mackerel taste?
