Your "oh right!"/"aha!" vocabulary

Hmm, cause when I learned 夫, I learned the ふう reading, and didn’t notice the alternate reading, so it always felt off. The rendaku plus the shortening made it so I always forgot it.

But now that I see ふ is also a common reading, that’s not so bad.

I never did come back to this, whoops.

Off the top of my head, the biggest one for me was 茶色, especially as I knew the word before learning the kanji. Of course brown is tea-color.

The most recent one has been 正座. Because why WOULDN’T Seiza = correctly sitting?

見つめる (to stare at) is actually 見詰める.
I’ve known the word for a while but I never would have guessed the kanji. It seems so obvious now.
