ズルズル

またバニラシェイクを飲もうとしたが、ズルズルと音が鳴っただけで、中身がストローを昇ってくる気配はなかった。

I tried drinking the vanilla shake again, but there was only a slurping sound, and no sign of the contents coming up the straw.

Isn’t onomatopoeia great?! There’s a wonderful book about Japanese onomatopoeia called “おなかぺこぺこオノマトペ I’m PEKO-PEKO Hungry!” that is full of wonderful illustrations to describe Japanese onomatopoeia. You might enjoy it!
