๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“š Read every day challenge - Winter 2023 โ˜ƒโ„

Mar 18, Sat of Week 12 of Winter Q1 2023 :snowman::snowflake:

  • ใ†ใ‚‰ใ‚‰่ฟท่ทฏๅธ– Vol.2 (47-68%)

It says, as mentioned in Ch.6. So thatโ€™s how chapters are counted.

  • ๆฎ‹ๆœˆ่จ˜ : ใใ—ใฆๆœˆใŒใตใ‚Šใ‹ใˆใ‚‹ Ch.8-9 (end first story)

The story is probably OK, but I got confused in the middle. Two lots of reading (first to middle of Ch.8). Problem was, it felt too long and no paragraph break.

Though, I have a little qualm of city names being an alphabetic letter, not that I havenโ€™t seen this pattern before.

  • ใ†ใŸใ‚ใ‚Œใ‚‹ใ‚‚ใฎ
Words of the day
  • ใดใ‚“ใดใ‚“(.) = (on-mim) being very energetic
  • ใ‚‚ใใ‚‚ใ(.) = (on-mim) dry food crumbling / speaking quietly / squirming = ใ‚‚ใžใ‚‚ใž
  • ใใ‚‰ใ‚Š(.) = (on-mim) shaking violently
  • ใ‹ใ”ใ‚ใ‹ใ”ใ‚ = a Japanese childrenโ€™s game. ็ฑ ็›ฎ(ใ‹ใ”ใ‚) = woven pattern (eyes, ็ทจ(ใ‚)ใฟ็›ฎ(ใ‚)) of a basket (็ฑ (ใ‹ใ”)). Though, the word is said to come from ๅ›ฒ(ใ‹ใ“)ใ‚€.
  • ใใ‚†ใ‚‰ใ™ = to smoke (cigarette); to burn incense = ็‡ป(ใใ‚†)ใ‚‰ใ™
  • ็Ÿญๅ†Š(ใŸใ‚“ใ–ใ) = an upright paper for writing (e.g. in a store; poems). No Furigana. Also, different reading for the second Kanji.
  • ๆนพๆ›ฒ(ใ‚ใ‚“ใใ‚‡ใ) = a curve. The first Kanji is the same one for bay, also in ๅฐๆนพ(ใŸใ„ใ‚ใ‚“), but has a second meaning for curve (= ๅผฏๆ›ฒ(ใ‚ใ‚“ใใ‚‡ใ) ย  / ย  ๅฝŽๆ›ฒ(ใ‚ใ‚“ใใ‚‡ใ)).
  • ็ ดๆฐด(ใฏใ™ใ„) = rupture of the (amniotic) membranes, preceding childbirth
  • ่„ฑ่‡ผ(ใ ใฃใใ‚…ใ†) = dislocation of a joint. The second Kanji is ่‡ผ(ใ†ใ™) (= a mortar).
  • ๆ–ฐๆ‰‹(ใ‚ใ‚‰ใฆ) = a newcomer / a new method
  • ใจใฐๅฃ(ใใก) = the first step; the beginning
  • ็›ธๆ€ง(ใ‚ใ„ใ—ใ‚‡ใ†) = affinity between people. I keep forgetting how to read the Kanji.
  • ๅข—ๅน…(ใžใ†ใตใ) = amplification
  • ่’้›†็™–(ใ—ใ‚…ใ†ใ—ใ‚…ใ†ใธใ) = collecting habit (mania) = ๅŽ้›†็™–(ใ—ใ‚…ใ†ใ—ใ‚…ใ†ใธใ). Has Furigana. IME wouldnโ€™t even try to suggest the first form. The first Kanji is generally replaceable with ๅŽใƒป้›†, it seems.
  • ๆธ…ๅป‰(ใ›ใ„ใ‚Œใ‚“) = upright; integrity
  • ่ฒซ็ฆ„(ใ‹ใ‚“ใ‚ใ) = significant presence; dignity. Has Furigana.
  • ๅƒฅๅ€–(ใŽใ‚‡ใ†ใ“ใ†) = unexpected stroke of luck. Has Furigana.
  • ้™ฝๅ‹•(ใ‚ˆใ†ใฉใ†) = feint; distracting (tactics)
  • ่ฟฝ(ใŠ)ใ„ใฏใŽ = bandit = ่ฟฝ(ใŠ)ใ„ๅ‰ฅ(ใฏ)ใŽ. Also, highwayman; gentleman of the road; road agent; holdup = bandit, it seems.
  • ใ“ใ‚‰ใˆๆ€ง(ใ—ใ‚‡ใ†)ใŒใชใ„ = lacking patience = ๅ ช(ใ“ใ‚‰)ใˆๆ€ง(ใ—ใ‚‡ใ†)ใŒใชใ„
  • ็›ฎ่ซ–่ฆ‹(ใ‚‚ใใ‚ใฟ) = a plot; a scheme. Iโ€™ve heard the word, just canโ€™t guess the Kanji form. Verb form is ็›ฎ่ซ–(ใ‚‚ใใ‚)ใ‚€.
  • ้”่ฟซ(ใคใฐใœ)ใ‚Šๅˆ(ใ‚)ใ„ = close sword-to-sword duel. First part has Furigana.
  • ็œŸ็ถฟ(ใพใ‚ใŸ)ใง้ฆ–(ใใณ)ใ‚’็ตž(ใ—)ใ‚ใ‚‹ = to strangle slowly with a silk cord (instead of quickly with a rope); to torment by slow degree.
    • ็œŸ็ถฟ(ใพใ‚ใŸ) is silk, while ็ถฟ(ใ‚ใŸ) or ๆœจ็ถฟ(ใ‚‚ใ‚ใ‚“) seems to be just cotton.
    • ็ตน(ใใฌ) and ็ตน็ถฟ(ใใฌใ‚ใŸ) are also silk.
  • ๅข“็ฉด(ใผใ‘ใค)ใ‚’ๆŽ˜(ใป)ใ‚‹ = to dig (oneโ€™s own) grave. The first word uses On readings. ใ‚ฑใƒ„ is also that hole.
