Wrong word in mnemonic for "acquaintance" and "to be on time"?

So I’m going through level 14, and a couple of lessons today seem to use the wrong word in the mnemonics for “acquaintance” (知り合い) and “to make it on time” (間に合う). They both seem to treat 合 (suit) as if it is 会 (meet). They both have the same kunyomi pronunciation (“a”), and they look vaguely similar, but I wasn’t aware of the “suit” kanji also meaning “meet”, which is how it’s used in the mnemonics. Is this an error, or is that a valid meaning for 合?

It’s one of the alternative meanings listed for the word.

合う and 会う are basically the same word, just with different nuances.
