Why is the learning zone lady always angry at me?

She’s saying I’m “outside the learning zone” and pointing that I’m closer to 100% than what the “learning zone” is. What am I supposed to do? How am I doing anything wrong? I’m just doing lessons and doing reviews every day as they show up.

I use Ruupa instead of the website because the angry lady isn’t there and the app is cuter anyway.

I’m not sure but I think the idea is that you don’t want retention to be neither too high or too low.

Too low and it means you are doing many errors and struggling with learning the material.

Too high (or close to 100%) and it means that what you are learning is not challenging you (since you are getting everything or almost everything right), you could potentially do a couple more lessons.

Reminds me of manga I’ve read yesterday

– Today the test results came – and I was the only one in the class who got all 100 points!
– Isn’t it how it’s supposed to be? If you have time to report such trivial things, use it to do more studying instead!

Anyway, I hope this would answer your question:

this is why i don’t bother with that widget
you can remove it if you don’t like it
(in case you’re unaware of how, you click your icon on the dashboard, and there will be a “Customize Dashboard” option)

Being “outside the learning zone” because your accuracy is too high is just a gentle guide that it might be okay from SRS point-of-view to take on more lessons and reviews.
The range and indication is the same at all levels, and it doesn’t mean much at the start or at the early levels if you already knew a lot of the lesson kanji.
I think you should just ignore it for now, or take it as encouragement that you are scoring so well.
