郵 just came up for review and though i remember both meaning and reading, i wanted to check the mnemonic with the new 垂 radical… but it’s still 車?
considering which lines do or do not stick out past other lines, i have a hard time believing that’s correct, but i don’t know how to look up the etymology ![]()

Yes you are right, 郵 = 垂+阝
You can look up etymologies in:
- wiktionary 郵 - Wiktionary, the free dictionary
- EDHCC by Howell Kanji Etymology 日本語の漢字語源・由来 - Brad Warden
- kanjipedia 郵 | 漢字一字 | 漢字ペディア (maintained by the organization that runs Kanken test)

ah, thank you
i had tried googling “郵 etymology” but it seemed to come up with just a bunch of “郵 means post” and i guess i was too overwhelmed to notice wiktionary was in the list ![]()
