I try an hit my reviews as soon as they come up wherever I am. I’m not really into this sacred study space thing; I have to recal these things in all environments, noisy, quiet, drunk, sober, awake, tired; whatever. Sure, I may drop more reviews, but that’s the way it goes.

For my last set of reviews the soundtrack was the TV Tokyo show I’m watching; one of their many minor tarento go on a bus trip type shows, a favourite type of show.

Each to their own though.

True. I also often do my reviews on the train or at parties, or in different circumstances, too. But when I’m at home and I have a big queue I usually put on podcast or my favourite playlist on spotify, grab a drink or some food, and do the reviews.

Well… Basically Just Mafumafu :eyes:
I listen to a lot of Mafumafu
Like a lot
As in I have a problem help me

That song was actually a cover by Mafumafu though! The original isn’t as catchy imo because it uses vocaloid and I don’t think the voice has the power it needs.
Also Mafumafu makes everything better :eyes:
Here’s some more songs I like!

And of course my favorite song ever~

I-I’ll stop myself there  If I don’t stop now I’ll drown us all in these <_<

Currently watching spongebob squarepants in Japanese on NHK Eテレ. This is good review background.

I should learn the theme song in Japanese. Over 15 years ago my first job out of university was broadcasting Nickelodeon to the Netherlands, in the long night shifts I learnt the Dutch version of the theme song and I can still sing a garbled version of it.

Hiiiiiiiiiijjjj woont in een ananas diep in de zee! :musical_note:

Edit: so as not to off-top: I can absolutely not listen to anything while doing reviews. ^-^

Hij ziet zo geel als een kaas souffle.

When I listen to music during reviews, I make more random mistakes, like switching kanji and voccabulary (生, looking at you…) or mistaking reading for meaning. The only time I listen to music is when I’m doing reviews while tipsy/drunk.

Same here, if music is important to you then IMO it’s best to listen to slow music without any vocals in them.

@Topic: I’m mostly using piano tracks from games like Final Fantasy or I use this: Japanese Garden • Relaxing Ambience Player

That website has a lot of great soundscape generators and with headphones this really helps to drown out all the background noise in my house and works well to calm me down from a busy day, which is especially important for learning.

Wow this is sweet!!! Love that 1980s Japan vibe

I can’t listen to music while I study or do anything (except walk or drive)

That’s a pretty neat choice, plus I learnt a few words from the song lyrics. This song kinda reminds me of a Two Door Cinema Club or a Vampire Weekend song because of the guitar riff at the beginning.

I often listen to ‘Where are you from?’ because it’s the first non-anime Japanese song I listened to. I heard it briefly in a podcast about foreigners living in Japan, so it always makes me think of travel and adventures when I hear it.

I don’t know how to embed videos.

These are wonderful!! Thank you so much!
