I can only sometimes listen to music while studying. Sometimes music keeps me awake, but sometimes it puts me to sleep. If I listen to something new, it’s too distracting, so it has to be something I have listened to before, usually on repeat or on a very small ordered playlist. I generally like it to be something upbeat, perhaps something my fingers can dance across the keyboard to.

Also I make my own Chiptunes sometimes. Chiptunes and Video Game music seem to repeat pretty well.
As for music with lyrics… Japanese music is a bit too distracting for me because I can sometimes understand parts of it, but it takes a lot of brain power. English music is sometimes OK, because I can understand it without thinking too much. Also sometimes I like to listen to Czech music, which I can’t understand at all (which means it’s not using up brain power!).

@Liras That https://mynoise.net thing is really cool. I probably won’t use it to study, but I’m definitely going back there to fiddle with it.
