What's your favorite way to study kanji handwriting?

Yes, one character should fit in a square box, including numbers and alphabets. Obviously include Kana.

No ads for this one, but gee, I am sorry to have shared a just fine way of practicing kanji.

Why are you apologising? I’m critical of the app, not you. Don’t take it personally.

I did some kanji yesterday!

i don’t think drawing with your finger in an app is helpful, because there’s a huge difference between finger painting and actually writing

While I agree that drawing kanji with your finger isn’t optimal (though it’s better than nothing), yours is a ridiculous comparison. Finger painting and writing are two entirely different actions. A better analogue would be finger painting and painting with a brush.

well for the sake of writing, in the sense you’re using a pen or pencil and not drawing things, it’s not helpful. i don’t know many people who write with their finger instead of a pen

Wow! What kind of pens did you use? The white writing is so fine! And the black pages look very professional.

Yeah I have a little pen addiction.

The white, Uni-Ball Signo UM-153 Broad Point Gel Impact Pen, 1.0mm, White / Gold / Silver

The color, Uni-ball Signo Angelic UM-120AC Gel Ink Pen 0.7mm

Any black paper would do I think.

Oh my gosh, that’s beautiful. Both your kanji and the colours and !!

Assumptions, assumptions.

I’m new to Wanikani but I studied for three years at my university so handwriting is all I’ve ever been used to. I usually use the textbook my Sensei assigned, Jyoukyou he Tobira, for essential kanji and then make supplemental lists of words I just want to know using jisho.org. Then I have a little notebook for kanji renshuu that I fill with kanji, writing the entire vocab list over and over and over again in succession. My pages usually end up looking like this and I love it because it looks like some kind of ancient manuscript when in reality it’s just gibberish:
