I think it was meant as a āloreā explanation for his lack of posting. I remember that he mentioned in the AMA thread that he didnāt really want to get so involved with the community in general, so it was one way to back off.

Koichi is cool, Iāve been watching him since his days of doing silly youtube videos, then started my japanese learning with Textfugu and eventually joined WK in 2013. It made a pretty big difference in my life, now that I think about it. Hope heās doing well

I will say, this is definitely true, and more so with regard to the POLL threads. There was a point some months ago where I just randomly decided to write a bunch of POLLfam usernames on a whiteboard
and I literally forgot so many people, even when I did this a second time (somewhere lower in that thread). Itās definitely been different with so many new faces, some of whom are still around today, and some of whom just kinda pop by for a couple of months and then are never heard from again. And then thereās the whole off-forum drama that goes on and influences a lotā¦
and once again, if I forgot your username and you feel you should be on the whiteboard, I am sorry; I know Iām a terrible person

Itās okay to ask questions like these, I had them too but I think if Koichi were to show up on the forums there would be no end to the demands (you posted some).
He knows whatās happening and there is a reason he doesnāt want to share details with us.
Iām sure Koichi would love to to give us the content we want, but maybe publicly saying that your company isnāt doing well might backfire, there might be other reasons like personal ones too, or a change of direction of where tofugu is headed.
He is here guys, Iām sure he read this thread. He is still working in the shadows, we get updates. But sometimes the best PR move is not to say anything at all.
As long as WK is not abandoned we should try to understand him even though he makes it hard to to, but hey, he has his reasons.
