I was reading a manga and the main character is on the phone with a friend and says this word in reference to herself. She’s talking about how she hasn’t gone out much. I tried to search the meaning but couldn’t really find anything. I’m thinking that maybe its suppose to be 屑 (trash) and ニート, so like…an unemployed, uneducated bum? Could this be right? Is this something that’s said? Other opinions?

It is something that’s said (rudely), yes.
Not necessarily uneducated, but not in education, employment, or training (at the moment).
Basically “garbage neet.”

It’s called “ぽぽたむさまのマフマフに埋もれたい！” It’s less of a story and more of a visual journal of the author’s life living with a troublesome pet rabbit.

If you say it fast enough, it also sounds a bit like Cousin It.
… Does this character have tons of hair and hasn’t brushed it out of her face?
