I’ve been hopping on Japanese servers, and whenever I join, I’m usually met with “082.” I couldn’t find anything online on what this means. I’m assuming it has to do something along the lines of “welcome,” but I want to know how it is read. Anyone have any ideas?

There’s an interesting Tofugu article on goroawase (Japanese number wordplay) which gives a greater selection of possible sounds, and towards the end of the article there is a link to a generator which gives 連発 / れんぱつ / firing in rapid succession as the meaning to 082 - does that make sense in your context?
Interesting website, but I don’t think it makes much sense in this context. I joined some other servers, and it really does seem to be something you say when a player logs on for the first time.
It’s just one of the other comments in your screenshot is “Ah…missed!”
Maybe you could ask them what it means. And tell us.

Which would be おはつ, which is defined as “doing something for the first time”
