What do you type in when you have no idea what the kanji is?

I usually try to remember something about the reading first. If really nothing comes to mind i usually just input あ.

I just put γ‚“. There is absolutely no kanji with that reading, so it won’t toy with my perfectly calibrated SRS Machine. (Mach-yeen?)

らら for when i don’t know the japanese, lala for when the english escaped me.
