From pg 211-212 in the print version:

いままで感じたことのないような悪寒が背筋に走った。

I was intrigued by this 悪寒 word and how it would be read. My brain kindly supplied me with あくさむ, which couldn’t possibly be right, so I looked it up and found out it’s おかん。Wanikani reinforces the お onyomi of 悪 with 嫌悪 and 嫌悪感, but only teaches the kunyomi of 寒 and the only vocabulary word in the system is 寒い。Ok, not so helpful there.

Looking on jisho, it seems like the かん reading for 寒 comes up in various weather/temperature related words like 寒暖計 (thermometer) and 寒波 (cold wave). So I suppose this reading would be helpful to know if you are listening to a weather report about how the temperature on your thermometer will drop in the cold wave, which might send chills up your spine!!
