Wow! So much happened in this section!

I’m feeling bad for those who are having technical difficulties with the e-book. Please feel free to do whatever you need to do to get through this section. It felt harder even for me without any technical difficulties.

And I think it’s worth it to get through this section! There’s some really crazy stuff going on here.

Like, the witch …? who is a stone bird? but also a woman? That whole section when she arrives was so trippy, but I couldn’t find any moment where the stone bird transformed – it was just a stone bird (depicted in the text and illustration literally as a stone bird), and then it was talking to her, and then later it was depicted in the text and the illustration as a woman.

Somehow the girl’s life in this tower feels so vivid, even though it’s just a few pages. This section really delivered on the weird and spooky vibes. 🖤
