I enjoyed this (half) chapter - it felt easier to read than the previous couple. Maybe more “normal life” language and dialogue, and less evocative apocalyptic scenery? And honestly hilarious to imagine. Poor ムーミンパパ！A bathtub! Ouch.

One question

I didn’t quite understand the relevance of the bathtub nearly covering the hole in the cave roof. Did I misread that somehow? I’m trying to imagine how you would use a bathtub to do that. Or was it something about piling stuff up so high that it reached the roof? Or was it not the roof but in fact the cave entrance? Help me out and I’ll go back and reread. Thanks!

Re: bathtub

They couldn’t fit it into the cave so they decided to drag it up the top of the cave and plug the hole there. I supposed it will be useful for blocking meteorite debris.

Ok that makes more sense. I was trying to imagine them doing that from inside the cave and failing.
